Connoisseurs4ALL Studios considers music to be an integral part of the liquid architecture of consciousness, it provides rhythm, melody and harmony to one's thoughts. The musings find meaning in the composition of how one chooses to be imbedded and embodied with one's self and its expression, the act of making and sharing music weaves the self in time and memory. The exercise of music connects us to the supposed unknown through the quest of co-creation and co-consuming with fellow musicians and plausible audience. The studio offers a space and platform to create, co-create and explicate one's artistic expression with authenticity.

Herein, the task of film making entails reconfiguring and recalibrating the understanding of fact and fiction, through moving beyond the myths of grandeur and the illusions of its pursuits, instead archiving the truth and documenting the necessities in its facilitation.

This song was inspired by a lecture from my department's beloved professor on understanding the political economy of a forest, as well as, how political economy is akin to the forest ecology, wherein, the discussion circled around the associational conjunctions of our actions and everything that surrounds us. This song expresses the understanding of "being" and the quest for its self-actualisation. It attempts to draw attention to the perpetual continuity of nature and how we ourselves are its manifestations (something we often seem to forget) while clinging on to the supposed idea of our individuality concerning how freedom lies in comprehending our connection with everything else instead of cutting ourselves aloof. The song underlies the need for acknowledgement of such associations to be attuned with the self's infinitude. In remembrance of a Bill Hicks statement which has traces of Spinoza and Hegel asserting "all matter is energy condensed, we are all one conciousness experiencing itself subjectively.

Augenblick (fulfilled moment), the point where the escstasies of past, present and future penetrate one's being. As riddling as this concept is to wrap the songwriters' head around, he found comfort in its esoteric nature. The songwriters quest towards self-discovery and self-expression have been soothed by the thought of ascertaining and wondering "if he is making the best of this very moment". The songwriter expresses his gratitude for accepting him as he is (despite all seeming limitations and inadequecies) to his friends, family and lovers who have helped me sail through another orbit around the sun, (this song was a birthday present from the songwriter to himself and the world),. He wishes to share cheers to all everyone who successfully denied his membership to 27 club (highlighting how his love for the world is rooted in the will to sacrifice 'egotism, greed and grueling agitation' that invites suicidal tendencies in the pursuit of 'love' and lack thereof). The song writer realized the point of "creation" and being embedded in the "process of creating" as the most fulfilling experience there can be and in the hope and contemplations of creating the rhymes and rhythms of his compositions may he finds bliss and joy. Creation often becomes a point of self-negation because it demands an immersion into the process that the songwriter thought as the penultimate purpose of his life.

This song was conceived in the aftermath of a heated argument with songwriters' beloved, such that the argument might very well be classified as a ‘brawl’ by many. Although, how that argument/brawl resolved was intriguing and of particular interest to the songwriter which was why I chose to archive/document that episode into a song. It builds on the premise of absolute contempt towards ones partner in the face dissent and conflictual vantage points through which the said stakeholders are attempting to engage with each other. This contempt lies in the attempt of convincing the fellow into budging on to ones whims and fancies. The most challenging aspect of being alive and ‘in love’ is to be painted into the projections of ones beloved. This song traces the perils and persistence that are involved in perpetuation of romance, especially in the face of conflict. The song narrates how conflictual tension resolves through carnal tension that ascends all forms of dissonance that impede confluence of minds, bodies and souls. This prospect of confluence and its underlying inevitability amongst beloveds strips all meaning from conflicts and cognitive dissonances. “La Petite Mort” is a French euphemism for an orgasm which literally translates to ‘the little death’, considering the underlying symbiotic nature of ‘life’ and ‘death’ and how their relationships aren’t antithetical to each other but are rather coterminous instead as both rest on each other’s negation (i.e., life is furthered from the negation of death, and, death stems from the negation of life). Hence, the proposition of ‘dying together holds the underlying proposal of ‘living together’ as well.
